Computer lights can be roughly divided into two types according to their structural forms, one is a shaking head computer light, and the other is a lens scanning computer light.
⑴ The shaking head computer light is the original form of computer lights. Its advantage is that the rotation of the lamp body drives the movement of the light beam, and the rotation range is large, which can achieve 360° rotation. This movement effect can produce a full-flavored visual experience on the stage.
⑵ The lens scanning computer light projects the light beam by swinging a reflective lens on the lamp head at the front of the lamp body. The pitch position of the lens is driven by two motors to complete the vertical and horizontal swing. Its biggest advantage is that the lens is very light, very convenient and quick to control, and can produce very fast changes in the movement of the light beam. Its disadvantage is that the movement range of the light beam is small due to the influence of the reflector axis. Therefore, it is more suitable for hanging use.
㈡ Functional characteristics of computer lights
Our computer lights have complete functions: generally including light color changes, three primary color combination changes, light brightness changes, pattern combination changes, pattern rotation changes, prism effect changes, soft light effect changes, lens aperture contraction changes, lens focus changes, lens zoom changes, beam strobe changes, etc.
㈢Control characteristics of computer lights
Computer lights are composed of actuators and control elements. Each change in the output light of computer lights, that is, the movement of the above-mentioned light beams, the color of the light, the projected pattern, the brightness of the light intensity, etc., are all completed by the actuator motor to operate specific optical devices. The control of computer lights is completed by computers. Each computer light is equipped with one or several CPUs. Through the processing of the CPU, the instructions given by the computer light control console to embody the creation of light art are sent to each action motor. These control instructions are a group of digital signals issued by the computer. Each action change of the motor corresponds to a digital code, and each change of the output light beam corresponds to a group of numbers. The control signal commonly used by our company is DMX512 signal.
㈣ Setting of address code of computer lights
Computer lights are controlled by digital signals and use the internationally common DMX512 control protocol. Each light has its own code, and the command issued by the console identifies each light through this code. The encoder of computer lights is generally installed at the tail of the light (lens scanning computer lights) or the base of the light (shaking head computer lights). There are two commonly used encoders: digital and switch types.
⒈ Setting of digital encoder
It is relatively simple to set the digital encoder. Generally, through the encoder menu, turn to the address setting by turning pages, and then use the "+" and "-" symbol keys on the encoder to change the size of the number. After confirming, press the confirmation key. Each computer light should be assigned a digital start address number to ensure that the computer light can respond to the correct control signal. The digital start address number is a channel number. Through this number, the computer light can start to "comply" with the digital control instructions issued from the controller.
⑴ Calculation method of the digital starting address of a computer light:
The digital starting address value of the current computer light = (the digital starting address value of the previous computer light) + (the number of basic channels of the controller). For example, a computer light with 16 channels. The starting address code of the first light is 1, so it is set to "001"; the starting address code of the second light is 17, so it is set to "017"; and so on, the starting address code of the third light is 033, so it is set to "033". That is, the first light is 001, the second: 1+16=17, the third: 1+16+16=33, and now our computer lights all use the above encoding method.
⒉ Switch encoder setting
In addition, some computer lights use a switch encoder, which is composed of 9 small two-bit switches (there are exceptions). When the switch is in the "on" position, it indicates that the numerical code represented by this switch is effective. For example: to set the starting address code of a computer light to 1, set switch "1" to "on"; to set the starting address code of a computer light to 41, set switches "1", "4" and "6" to "on"; and so on, you can set the address codes of all computer lights.
㈤Matching of computer lights and computer light consoles
Our computer lights are generally connected by DMX512 signal control. However, there are many computer light consoles of different models and brands at home and abroad, and the output control signals are not the same. Some cannot output DMX512 control signals. Therefore, when choosing a console for computer lights, you must consider the matching problem and see if the selected console can output the DMX512 control signal that is currently more common in the world. You also need to see how many control ports the console has. Usually, the number of computer lights controlled by one DMX512 control port is limited. The more control ports, the more computer lights can be controlled. The number of computer lights (N) that can be controlled by a DMX512 control port can be calculated by the following formula: N=512÷Nc (where Nc is the number of channels of a computer light).
㈥Signal line of computer lights
Computer lights are digital devices. They are connected in series through signal lines and execute instructions provided by the computer light console to complete various actions (light movement, color change, pattern change, etc.). If there is a hidden danger in a certain signal line, it will cause control disorder of the entire system and fail to operate normally. Under normal circumstances, the control length of the signal line should not exceed 150m, otherwise, the control signal will be severely attenuated and the computer light cannot be well controlled. If the signal line is too long, consider adding a signal amplifier. Many faults we encounter in actual work are caused by signal lines. Therefore, carefully measuring each signal line before connecting the signal line and appropriately adding a signal amplifier in the control loop can often achieve twice the result with half the effort.
